Hi Everyone--This is the first time I've posted on this topic and I've enjoyed reading all of your posts for the last week or so. I began Phentermine on June 10th, 30mg, and so far I've lost 3 lbs. After one week, I was finding that one was doing almost nothing at all and I started taking 2. Then I decided to order a different brand and in 37.5mg. I am now taking 2 of those per day as of yesterday. Seems to be working better. But I'm still leery of getting bogus pills. Sure would like your feedback on this. The 30mg I ordered from I don't seem to have much extra energy from either one, which is really unlike any other diet pill I have taken in the past. Look forward to your comments.

Irish,
Which dosage are you taking 2x's a day? Are you in the care of a doctor? I am not an expert but I would have to say that taking the 30 or even the 37.5 mgs twice a day is dangerous.

Are you ordering these off of the internet? Where are they coming from?
I know that some docs do prescribe more than 30 or 37.5 mg. but that's after one has been on it for a while. Like Amy asked, are you under a Dr's supervision?

I've heard of people working up to that dosage, but starting there? I think that's not a smart idea.

I have found like alot others taking phen on an empty stomach helps. Some say drinking coffee when you take it helps. I dont think your getting bogus pills.

If you take two 37.5 mg per day, I would imagine the next morning you would feel pretty lathargic until you started taking them again.

WOW! Doubling your dose is NOT good and especially after talking to my doctor this morning about going back on phentermine. He told me that it is addicting, causes heart valve problems, heart attacks and high blood pressure. He told me that the weight loss is NOT a permanant thing with phentermine. It gives you more energy, which makes you more active. Which causes the weight to come off and it does surpress your appitite. It's just not safe and doctors are over perscribing it. Some people are having it perscribed to turn around a sell. My doctor said he has had skinny women come into his office wanting to be put on it. He refuses.
Out of all of the weightloss meds, he recommended xenical because it is the safest and does not affect the heart and is not addictive. Another thing he is going to try with me is Glucophage, which is used to treat type 2 diabetes. I had gestational diabetes with 3 of my 4 pregnancies so therefore, I am at risk of having diabetes. He said that Glucophage causes weightloss, more in women than in men. He knows of a few women who have lost over 100 lbs while on this medication.
You should see your doctor and let him perscribe what he thinks would be best for you and your situation. Find out the facts on any medication before just buying over the net.
I am just thankful for having a caring and cautious doctor who is willing to help me with my weight problem in the safest manner.

I was on phen-fen for about 4 1/2 months about 7 years ago, which I loved, and I'm in love with Phentermine, now, and it's great that we have a choice, either by a clinical diagnosis, or not on a chart, which would be how we are getting this.
I had a doctor tell me that you can stretch your 30 mgs of Phentermine by drinking tea at lunch time. It worked like a charm. I'm a nurse, an LPN, and I'd not take more than one of those pills a day. I have phentermine, too, I just got it two days ago, after a light bulb went off in my head about what it was...the first half of Phen-fen AWESOME! I found it, finally. I also have a few months of xenical, which at times, you need to just give your body a rest from. I prefer the phentermine, but only 30mgs of it. Just drink a little tea, or a diet soda with cafeine in it.
Don't over do your pills, it could jack up (and I do mean up) your blood pressure, and cause alot of problems you don't want to deal with. Phentermine does something to your serotonin level. It's like a happy pill for me, so I'm happy to have it. But, if you take too much of it, you could get tired, and that's when you're taking too much. Get off of it for a week. Try that. It's one of those odd medications, that if you're tired, you're taking too much. I've ordered many diet pills over the internet, and I haven't had anything bogus. No problems.

ok, I am new at all this too. And you just scared me. I started taking them about 4 days ago and I am not hungry but, I am not all energized either, so, I don't know but, I want it to work so bad that I'm going to make it work.
let me know how you feel with that double dose cause thats scary.

Irish,
Phen is pretty much an amphetamine, most doctors perscribe up to 37.5 for a reason. More than that over a period of time is dangerous to your nervous system. Maybe try taking half twice a day. If your not under a doctors care, you should monitor your blood pressure and your resting heart rate. :) Just keep safe....
