Start date: 11/11/02
Start weight: 240
How much you have lost: 10 lbs

Do you exercise, if so, what do you do?? I am starting to get some cardio exercise in by doing the elliptical trainer and treadmill at the gym, and I have also been doing light weight training on our small home gym

Do you lo-fat, lo-carb, WW??? I am doing a low carb diet, and the only cheating I've done is I have a Diet Dr. Pepper once in awhile (no carbs in it though). I am counting ALL carbs, not just net carbs like the Atkins diet lets you. I figure the fewer carbs I take in, the easier time I will continue to have in breaking my sugar addiction! :)

Good luck and good health! :D

Hi Karen! Welcome! great idea!
Hi Ivie! Welcome to you too! ManOman! I looked at your website! Just beautiful...I grew up in western Colorado - but Alaska blows that out of the water! I have never been but it's on my list for someday!

let's see:
I started phen on 10/17 and have lost 13 lbs.
(stats below)
I do the elliptical for an hour 3-4 times a week and upper & lower body weight training.

I just eat sensibly...healthy foods (MOST of the time ;) )veggies, tofu, lean meat/chicken, fish, soymilk/kashi GO LEAN CRUNCH cereal (rocks!), water, water, water, green tea, brown rice, still on pasta-but trying to cut that down (kinda trying to do an atkins adaption to see if that will lower my cholesterol), fruits:melons, berries (found out i was allergic to "tree-fruits" for now - getting allergy shots UGH!)

had some run-ins with white chocolate covered oreos...but i think i've recovered! :D

Welcome! great to meetcha! "talk" to ya soon!

Well all Im brand new here so will introduce myself. I just started phen on tuesday this past week...bad idea with thanskgiving. But I didn't eat much at all that day. Im quite surprised at how little of an appetite I have, usually am famished. Sometimes have to remind myself to eat something! But Im having some unpleasant side effects Id like some input on. First, Im kinda jittery and hatefull feeling inside off and on. Second Ive had horrific headaches!Third I feel some chest tightness but Im also a smoker and KNow that isn't good but one bad habit to kick at a time! Im really feeling motivated reading all the post in here. You are an inspiration knowing there are others tring to loose this weight too! My goal is at least 40 lbs...sounds like so much! The weight has crept on over the last 20 yrs after 3kids anda hysterectomy. Any advice on the newbies adn getting through the first few weeks would be appreciated! Thanks for listening.......TJ

Second Ive had horrific headaches!Third I feel some chest tightness but Im also a smokerWelcome! well, the jittery is a common side-effect. that should go away shortly. Headaches cold be a side-effect, I haven't experienced that. Try drinking MORE water than you already do...I would consult your doctor about chest tightness. But I would say give it a couple weeks for side-effects to subside. I won't even go into the smoking - i'm sure you're old enough to know betta! :p

Yeah, I though Phen & Thanksgiving went well together! I didn't stuff myself!

It's so wonderful to forget to eat isn't it!?

take care ;)

well it's been 1 1'2 weeks on phen..some of the side effects are subsiding. Im experimenting with tkaing half the 37.5 in the a.m. and the other half around 1 pm. Seem to help better. Still feel some hunger pains and still fighting the sweet tooth urge! I have lost 4 lbs not a great loss but a start. Not exercising much either due to long work hours and too cold outside but doing sit ups so tummy will firm up I hope! I still have some major irritablility with it and notice I feel a bit depressed? Not on an antidepressant at this point and don't really want to be.i love reading all the post and encouragement in here but still need more helpfull hints on loosing this battle! Ive increased my water a lot and hope to get moving more. My job as a nurse requires me to be on my feet 12 hour shifts so not much energy left by the time I get home to exercise! Thanks for any input..
