Hi everyone. I am new to this board and was wondering of someone has researched Phentermine? Or if you can describe what I should expect from experience. Does it burn fat? Does it just decrease your appitite?? I have tried to research it but there is not a lot out there.
I love reading the success stories. Thanks for you help. I look forward to making new friends!

21Forsberg...
Phen is WONDERFUL!!!!!! I think it depends on each individual, but for myself this is the only thing that has helped me. I weighed 305 pounds in June of this year.. 5 months ago Dec 6th I have lost 82 pounds. I also dont eat after 2:00p in the afternoon, but I dont take my pill till 1:30. Some people cant take it that late cause it keeps them up at night. But I havent had that prob. Phen just gives me soo much energy that I dont have time to think to eat. Sometimes I even have to make myself eat!!!! Also to help the process along working out daily or at least 5 x's a week will help!!!The way my Dr described Phen is... It has a metabolism booster in it.. it speeds up your heart, therefore it burns fat. It has a diueretic in there that causes you to use the restroom alot!!!! So you loose unwanted water retention!!!! On average, Ive lost about 10-16 pounds per month. I promise you will see results!!!! Good luck and keep it up. Keep me posted on how you do!!! :p

WOW! Congratulations on your weight loss! I only hope I can do that well. I am at 225 right now and I want to get to 165. I try to work out but its hard to get into the routine. Once I start exercising I love it, its just hard to get started.
I appreciate your explanation on Phen. I sure hope its works as well with me!
Good luck! and thanks :)

Phen is a great weight loss tool but that is what it is... a tool. That goes long with drinking water, water and more water, exercising and eating healthy.... Phen works in the part of the brain called the hypothalamus... and this part of the brain controls body temperature hence the hot flashes you may get using Phen, it controls fluid balance hence the fact that you are thristy all the time while using Phen, It effects the appetite hence the appetite supression action of Phen, It also controls the rate of the heart hence the racing heart rate that can happen when you use Phen...
Phen decreases your appetite... it does not burn fat...
I hope that this info helps ya... and you should think about joining the Cupid Challenge... Great Place to get Info and Support from a great group of people... Shannon,
Thanks for the clarification. I will have to take that info back to my Dr. She explained to me that because Phen sped the heart rate up you are burning fat and calories. Guess shes mistaken somewhere.
Looking at your before pics doesn't look like you have much to loose.
But congrats on what you have lost and good luck in the future.

Michele-
Thanks for your kind comment on my pictures... pictures can be deceiving... I lost that extra tire that was around my waist... and believe you and me I still have some fine tuning to do... I am far from being done... I went from a size 14 to a size 6 or 4 depending on the brand of pants that I wear...that was quite the change for me... I'm glad that you joined the Cupid Challenge...I swear, you won't regret it... It's the best thing that I ever did besides taking phen for those 5 months... Take care and I'll see ya around, Shannon

I just started back on Phentermine yesterday after being off of it for the last 6 mos and on/off of it for the last year. Initially I lost 65 lbs, going from 200lbs to 135lbs. I looked better, felt better, was happier, and had so much more energy. The only thing that I can say about Phentermine is that it is NOT a cure. It will help jump start your diet/exercise routine, but you have got to change your eating habits and be willing to do that for good or you WILL gain back all of your weight. I did. I, for the most part stopped working out and eating healthy. It takes so much work and dedication to eat healthy and exercise. I was able to do it for 2 years, and keep it off, when I was a stay at home mom, but when I had to go back to work and sit on my butt all day my new body went back to the old body I despised.
The best advise that I can give is that you owe it to yourself to give yourself that 1 hour out of the day to exercise. You deserve it and you should do it. I am forever putting everyone else before me since I went back to work, and I have ballooned back up to where I was at and I am miserable, depressed, and forever tired. No matter what it takes, I will do this again, and keep it off. I do not want to be a skinny size 2, I never have been, never will be, but I would be happy with the size 10 that I was, and I will get there. I look forward to meeting people on this website and being able to encourage each other because it is a hard road to go alone and when you have support from others who understand how you feel and what you are going through it makes a huge difference. Feel free to email/contact me....good luck to all of the newbies!!! :p
