I have tried the low carb diet and it was very difficult for me. Now that I am on phen I am doing the low fat low calorie diet. It seems that I have not lost as much weight as I think I should have (6 pounds in 2 weeks). Is the low carb diet better. I need more results. Can someone please give me some advise!!!!!!Please!!!!

Hey there, well this is just my opinion and experience. I know some people will disagree with me and thats fine. Everyones body responds diferent to diets.
I am doing the low fat/low calorie eating plan , as per my dr. I chose not to do the "diet" plan such as atkins or WW. I wanted to just eat healthier and start exercising. I started on Jan 2 and since then have lost 23lbs, almost 40 inches and 2 sizes. I feel great have more energy and can actually look in the mirror now.
My dr has me doing 1200 calories a day, no more then 40 grams of fat a day. I also drink at least a gallon of water a day and exercise everyday for 2-3 hours. She told me that for my starting weight, height and age she didnt want me to lose more then 12 lbs a month.
This is just my experience, I know some people who have lost a LOT of weight on atkins and kept most of it off, if not all of it. I know others who have gained it back. With any change in your eating habit reither its low carb, low fat , with weight loss you have to be willing to stick with it and work at maintaning your weight all the time.
Good luck

Do what works best for you...everyone is different...I will try to find the "test" I got for discovering if you are a carb addict or not and post it later today. I am doing low carbs and have had no hunger at all...as far as the weight loss goes, 6 lbs in 2 weeks is wonderful! I have been told that 2-3 lbs a week is great at the beginning. Just exercise and keep drinking your water and the clothes will get looser and looser....rely on that more than the dang scales!

I follow a low fat plan on the advice from my doctor. I find that it's really easy to stick to.

HI!
I do Atkins, LOVE IT and will never do anything else BUT... My whole theory on diets is to find one that has a menu you enjoy, if you don't like the menu, you won't stick to it and you won't lose weight or keep weight off.
My best advice is to sit down and make a list of the "Healthy" foods you enjoy and then find a diet plan that allows those foods. OR just makes one up yourself.

I was just wondering how long it took you guys to lose all that weight. You all have made such wonderful progress. I just want to know how long it took you, so I can compare it to my own lose.

I have been on phen since Dec 6 and have lost 15 lbs. For me, this is huge. I know I am doing things right, so if it comes off slow, that's fine. I was on 15 mg for 3 months and when I switched to 30 mg, I got better results. 6 lbs in 2 weeks is great! Some people lose faster because they have more to lose in the beginning. Others lose quick in the beginning and then slow down. It is different for everybody. Personally, I don't believe in diets. I belive in moderation, water and exercise. Phen is a tool that has helped motivate me. The good old fashioned way is the healthiest way and it is what I believe in. If a diet is part of your plan, don't do low carb unless you really want to. Otherwise eat sensibly and you will start to see the weight come off. Good luck!

well thanks again
I have now lost 10 pounds in 3 weeks. I just started to lose weight quicker and I don't know why, but I am very happy. I was starting to get discouraged and now I feel like I can really take all the weight off this time!
