Hello out there! I am new to taking phen.. I have checked the archives and have not been able to find an answer to my questions regarding weight loss while having a tyroid problem.
I had to have my tyroid removed last year and because of that I gained over 18 pounds in less than a year. I started to worked out and watched my caloric and fat intake(1000-1200). My doctor discovered that my thyroid levels where low. My levels are now in range. My metabolism was so slow and needed a kick so my doctor gave me phen. I have been taking it for 10 days and have not loss a single pound. I wanted to know if anyone out there knows if this is typical when first starting off with phen while having a tyroid problem? And if so when will I see some results.
I work out 5 days a week (3 of them with a trainer). I would appreciate any feedback someone can give. I don't want to get discouraged.

Hi bride2be,im new here also. I take snythroid everyday because I have low thyroid and my calorie intake is also around 1200(doctor recommended). My doctor perscribed 30mg of Phen I started taking it on the 4th of Feb I weighed 216 -- on the 5th I weighed 214 im scared and excited to check my weight again but I want to wait a couple of days atleast. Ive been drinking 1/2 gal of water a day im sure its not water weight loss because I was on a diet before the Phen 232 was my highest weight but it was getting hard so thats when I went to the doctor.
I wish you the best on your weight loss goal. I know its tough and discouraging because of the thyroid and we dont have the energy that a normal person would but hopefully with the Phen we can have some energy...at least to loose some weight.

Thanks so much for the reply. I am glad to hear that you are losing some weight..It gives me some hope. What exercises are you doing? How many times a week? What are your eating habbits? It will be nice to hear because I may need to switch things up a bit. It is really hard when you don't have the energy to go and work out but I have been making myself do it. I am taking the same amount of phen you have been taking so at least I know it works! Thanks!

I have had hypothyroidism all my life..almost I was 14 when they caught it..I weighed 89 lbs. The hypothyroidism was so severe that I had stopped eating, only slept. That said ..If you take your meds every day being hypothyroid in no way affects your weight. I have had 4 children, I take 300mcg of synthroid a day..My only weight issues are from not getting daily SERIOUS exercise and grazing..nibbling all day long
I started phen 30mg a week ago at 156..I rode my bike for 2 hrs yesterday , played indoor soccer for and hour I am at 150 this week..so it's working. My goal to stave off diabetes is 120..I am 5'3"...hope that helps

Oh, and I switched all the foods we do eat to whole grain, tons of veggies, like carrots and broccoli for treats or yogurt.and I cook every dinner now...I bought a book called Super Suppers..use it to pick a meal every night no eating out..luckily the phen gives me a lot of energy that was sorely lacking before too..
